Visiting Massachusetts: 3 Places To Visit For a Family Vacation

Massachusetts might be one of the smallest states in the US, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be spoiled for choice when deciding what places to visit when touring the area with your family. There is much to explore, with kid-friendly attractions, historical points of interest, and beaches galore to discover.

To help you make an informed choice, here are three of the best places to visit when you’re traveling with your family.

Boston

Being the capital city of Massachusetts, you are obviously going to find much to do with your time here. It’s chock-full of family activities, with the New England Aquarium, the Boston Children’s Museum, and the Franklin Park Zoo being just three of the city’s highlights. You should also head to Charles River for a ride on the city’s famous duck boats, visit the Puppet Showplace Theater for an alternative theatrical experience, and take to the Freedom Trail to educate your children on the historical importance of the American Revolution. And with ferry rides on the Boston Harbor Islands, top-rated beaches to relax on, and some beautiful public gardens to explore, you won’t be short of attractions to appeal to you if you’re looking for some peace and quiet on your visit here.

There are all kinds of reasons to book a hotel in Seekonk, MA, not least because of the vast number of family-friendly activities your children are going to love on a stay here. There are the theme park delights of Fantasyland and Edaville Family Theme Park, the nautical adventures of Battleship Cove, and for animal lovers, the wildlife havens of Capron Park Zoo and the Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary. Springfield

Okay, so your kids will be disappointed to hear that this isn’t the hometown of The Simpsons, but they won’t be too upset when they see what the area has to offer. The town hosts one of the  best fairs in the country, the Eastern States Exposition, with amusement rides, concerts, and parades galore. Visit during the fall if you want to take part. There’s also the Basketball Hall of Fame for any sports lovers in your family, the Dr. Seuss Museum for your little ones, and plenty of other attractions, including zoos, museums, and water parks that are great for all ages. And if pop-up camping is your thing, there are plenty of camping grounds here, including the family-focussed Jellystone Park (featuring Yogi Bear) if you want to convince your children that there is more to cartoons than the Simpsons.
