Unicorns & Batman {A shared boy & girl nursery & bedroom}

After we completed the initial remodel work, next we worked on each bedroom. One of the last rooms I finished was Ashlyn’s room. She was still mostly co-sleeping (not by choice, its been an ongoing war since birth!) and I wasn’t yet sure anyways how I wanted to finish her room. A year later when we found out we were pregnant with baby #3 I suddenly found my motivation to finish it. I did not know the sex yet, so I wanted a neutral color and I love blues so I choose a blue that I thought worked well for a nursery and would be pretty for what I had in mind for Ashlyn’s side of the room. When we found out it was a boy, I knew exactly what theme I wanted to do on his side: Monochrome BATMAN! My husband is a huge Batman fan and I wanted something modern so it was perfect.

The before photo (after we painted the home grey but before changing it to blue, also the old carpet is pictured here before we replaced it with the new grey carpet)

You can see that each child has one side of the room with two windows between them.

I just love how their room turned out and how my boy and girl can share the space and it look and function great as well!

UPDATE: The kids have been divided and put in separate rooms at age 2 and 6. You can see Ashlyn’s girl room here and Arlo’s boy room here.
