Tips For The Best Trip To Minnesota Zoo

There are some family days out that are just amazing. Zoos of any kinda tend to be one of them. Getting to see animals up close, and to observe them for a while as they go about their daily lives is something quite special. Even more so for little children. But how do you get the most out of a day at the zoo? And more specifically, Minnesota Zoo?

Camera

This one isn’t for you sadly grown-ups. You’re going to give a camera to the kids for the day. While you are always free to capture the most spectacular images, seeing the day through a child’s eyes is something else entirely. Not only that – but they are likely to take photos of you too!

Interactions

Minnesota Zoo has so many different things that you can do each day. There is a calendar of events online, and you can check the best times to arrive at the zoo to see the interactions you want. These are great opportunities because while you will need to be leading the charge for most of the day, for the periods of time where the bird shows are happening, or the snakes and spiders can be handled, you’ll get a break. And the kids are still entertained.

Stay

If you are staying too far away, then you’re going to need to leave your hotel super early to make the most of the day. Instead, opt for a hotel by Minnesota Zoo. If you opt for the Prime Rate inn, then you will find that after a long day at the zoo, you can relax and unwind in a whirlpool. There is free Wi-Fi so you can upload all of those pictures of the zoo, and the complimentary donut and coffee is the perfect way to start your day. And if the weather happens to be a little less than ideal, the arcade games area is fun for everyone.

Pack Your Food

One of the highest costs of a day trip with the family is always the food. There is typically a premium on any attraction food. So, dodge the queues and the cost, and make your own. There are a few local delis and grocery stores that you can pick up everything from fruit to juice boxes.

Stop

Instead of beating the path all day, remember that it is supposed to be fun and relaxing. And, while the kids might be super excited and trying to rush the day, you can plan in a few spots to stop in using a map of the location. There is a perfect spot to stop by the penguin exhibit. The kids can play there, and you can watch them safely.

Play Games

Before you go to the Minnesota Zoo, create or download a list of animals, mammals, birds, and activities for everyone to tick off as they go around. If you want to make it extra competitive, have a little treat for the person who manages to tick off everything first.
