Throw The Perfect Covid-Friendly New Year Event

There is no doubt that this year’s new year celebrations are going to be a little muted compared to most. Depending on where you are in the world and what kind of restrictions you are having to pay attention to, you might not even be allowed to leave the home – or you might be allowed to have a mini-gathering of some kind as long as you socially distance. But all being equal, how can you make sure that you are throwing the perfect covid-friendly new year event, keeping people safe while having as much fun as possible?

Drinks At Home

Probably the most popular type of new year celebrations that people are going to go for this year is to simply stay at home and have some drinks. You will probably need to restrict this to just the people that you live with or who are in your safety covid bubble. As long as you bear those restrictions in mind, you should be able to throw an enjoyable event in your home which you are going to love. You could find a good jungle juice recipe and get a little tipsy, watching new year celebration programs on TV – even if it is just you and the cat.

Dine In

Perhaps you would prefer to have a meal with one or two close friends? If so, there are a number of ways in which you can do this, and you might be surprised at how safe you can remain while doing so. In truth, there are many ways to achieve this safely. Make sure you don’t try to hang out with too many people at one time, of course, but you could meet with one or two for a winter picnic in the park, a garden soiree, or even in your home if it is safe to do so and you keep the windows open. This can be a great way to get the best of both world – keeping safe and being responsible while also having fun with the people in your life.

Virtual Party

What many people will probably be doing this year is something along these lines: a virtual new year party. If you are thinking of doing this, it certainly is a relatively easy and simple way to throw a covid-friendly party. All you need to do is to set up a video conferencing call via Zoom or another similar app, and then invite whoever you want to be there. With this method, you can of course host a party of any size, and use it as an opportunity to get in touch with everyone you want. Plus, you can eat and drink and treat it like a normal party in that way, reflecting on the past year or dreaming of better years to come.

Escape Room

If you are able to safely get together with a few friends, one way to meet up for the new year is to try out an escape room together. These are all the rage at the moment, and as it happens they are a perfectly safe way to get together with some people in your life, so it is absolutely worth doing for that reason. In an escape room game, you are working with others from inside a giant puzzle, trying to find clues that lead to information on how to get out of the room in question. As long as you attend it with your bubble only, and the place you go to ensure that they are sanitizing after every visit, this is a fun and original and safe way to celebrate the new year this year.

Socially-Distanced Party

Finally, there is one more exciting option that you might be able to choose. This will depend on the rules in your area, how much the virus is spreading where you live and so on, but if it is a fairly safe area you might be able to throw a socially-distanced party with a few guests. You probably won’t want to invite more than a few people but as long as you all make a point of keeping distance and so on, it is possible to at least have some kind of party this way.

As you can see, it should be simple enough to celebrate new year in some way, even if it is not going to be like a normal year. As long as you are sensible, safe and courteous to other people in your society, you should be able to do this.
