There is nothing as exciting as getting ready to go on a trip, but it can be stressful to get read. It’s lovely to go somewhere new, but the enthusiasm can equal a level of forgetfulness. There is always something you’re bound to forget, no matter how hard you plan!

You have to make sure that you don’t forget anything before you go, so let’s check out some of the things that you should remember to do before your next vacation.

  1. Book your car parking way more in advance than you initially planned. Most people forget to book their car parking because they are in a rush to reach their flight. People forget that they need somewhere safe for their car to be, and when it comes to preparing for a trip, it’s important to book in advance to save money.
  2. If you’re going abroad where the outlets are different to the ones at home, you need to consider getting new chargers and cables ready to charge your laptops and phones. Pack these in advance and make sure you bring spares. The airport plugs and chargers are pricey for a reason – they exploit those who forget! Don’t be that person!
  3. Packing for the weather is vital, and you need always pack for rain – even if you’re going somewhere sunny. The more tropical the place, the more rain you should expect to find! Don’t be caught somewhere there is no rain coverage so pack-a-mac and bring an umbrella! You don’t need to overload your suitcase with thick coats and gloves, but you do need to bring the right clothing for all weathers – just in case.
  4. You wouldn’t believe the number of people who forget their toothbrushes and paste before they go away. Of course, you can buy these when you go away or at the airport, but you shouldn’t have to spend more than necessary!
  5. Extra luggage is something you should consider, especially if you like to shop. Having an extra bag will mean that you have more space, but make sure that you look at how much it will cost for an extra kilo or ten so that you’re prepared. You want enough space for everything, so bring extra and you’ll be covered.

People create different packing lists for every trip they go on, from what they add to the car to what they put into the hand luggage. Now you know what you mustn’t forget, you can stay calm and organized. Put the pets in the right daycare, let the neighbors know about the parcels and cancel the milkman for the week or two you’re away. Don’t forget these essentials, and you can ensure that it’s second nature to you from now on!
