Spring Themed Easter Baskets with Gardening Supplies (Candy-Free)
Easter baskets are so fun to create for kids! You can get pretty creative and curate baskets that are completely candy-free yet are fun and inspiring for kids. I really am not a big fan of using candy as a primary filler for Easter baskets (or any holiday) so I have gotten creative over the years and made many alternative candy-free Easter baskets for my kids. One of my favorite and most used candy-free Easter basket themes is a Spring theme or gardening themed basket. I now create this basket every year since the kids always need new gardening supplies and it sparks their interest in getting out in the garden each Spring!
Garden or Spring themed Easter baskets are also just perfect for any age and any gender. Everyone loves gardening! And these Spring themed Easter baskets give the kids new supplies to encourage them to get outside as the weather warms up, I know my kids always look forward to their new supplies. To create this basket you will simply fill each Easter basket with new gardening supplies, such as gloves and shovels and seeds, and then customize each basket with a couple small candy-free items tailored to that child’s age and interests. These baskets were created for my 3 kids, Emily (girl-14), Ashlyn (girl-8) and Arlo (boy-3). Take a look and be inspired to create your own Spring themed gardening Easter baskets!
I like to give my kids matching Easter baskets and love these simple white baskets and linen liners. I love these custom Easter basket liners because they are a great quality and are heirloom worthy. They will become a treasure to remind them of all their childhood Easter memories! Now every year I just have to replenish their gardening supplies and put a couple small goodies in their basket.
Emily loves to create and decorate cookies so in her Easter basket I added a little cookie decorating kit! A cookie decorating kit is a great way to add a treat other than candy that also adds a creative element to the gift. Her Easter basket had lots of gardening supplies, including new gloves, a gardening apron, seeds, gardening stakes, and a plant kit. I also included a cute decorative faux wreath in each Easter basket to add to the overall cuteness and theme of the basket.
Ashlyn loves stuffed animals so in her Easter basket I added a small stuffed bunny. In her Easter basket there is also a gardening apron, seed packets, gardening stakes, gloves, and a potted flower. The items in these Easter baskets are so fun for Spring gardening! Not only does this encourage the kids to get outside and garden, but you also avoid having tons of useless junk!
Arlo also loves stuffed animals so I added this cute stuffed animal to his basket. Even though hes little he loves gardening just as much as his big sisters so he also got new gardening supplies in his Easter basket. This included a gardening apron, seed packets, gardening stakes, gloves, and a potted flower. In addition, because Arlo is still a toddler, I added some candy-free treats in his basket. He loves Annie’s cheddar bunnies and gummy bunnies, and they are so cute for Easter baskets because the bunnies keep it Easter themed.
Other items that you could include in a Spring themed Easter basket for gardening include various shovels and picks, small kneeling boards, other varying seed packets, mini starter plants, mini watering cans, pretend gardening supplies for very young toddlers, gardening themed teethers and toys for infants… there are so many cute and fun gardening themed items you can use to create your own Spring themed Easter baskets for your kids!

I love this idea! We have been getting a few gardening things and plan to do a bunch of gardening and planting with the boys tomorrow afternoon. I may have to add a few more things for it to their baskets this year, too!

These Easter basket ideas are great. I like baskets that are filled with useful items rather than just chocolates and candy.

I love these baskets. As my kids have gotten older, I’ve really tried to steer away from candy and into things they will actually use in their baskets.
