Small Kitchen Pantry Organization with Clear Farmhouse Labels

I will be the first to admit out pantry is usually a huge mess, with piles of half opened bags of food just piled everywhere. I really wanted (and needed) to organize our pantry, especially because essentially we have a small cupboard that we use as a pantry so its super important to make the best use of the space by properly organizing it. I love the farmhouse style for our home, and when we remodeled our kitchen into a white farmhouse kitchen I imagined of a bright and organized pantry full of matching bins with black farmhouse labels. Here is how I brought that idea to life, and completely organized our small kitchen pantry with vintage inspired clear and black farmhouse labels!

Cleaning Out the Pantry

This isn’t even the half of it. This was after I threw out almost twice as much random junk that was just piled in here! But there is clearly no order to this small pantry at all before this project began.

In order to properly organize any space, such as our small linen closet or our farmhouse laundry room, you need to completely empty out the space. Then you sort through what you really want to keep and toss the rest. Once you know what you need to keep, lay it all out, get all your bins ready, and start the organization process.

Labeling Pantry Containers

Start the organization process by sorting all the foods that you eat regularly into bins. I love these OXO Bins because they really keep my food fresh, they stack and line up gorgeously and squarely, and the crisp white lids look bright and clean and work well in my farmhouse style kitchen.

You will need some beautiful clear farmhouse labels. I am absolutely obsessed with all the labels from Talented Kitchen! There is literally a label for everything, they go on easily, and look so pretty on containers!

When you are ready to label your food bins, cut out the labels you want to use and rest them on their respective containers. This helps you decide what you want to use and where, and to decide what foods need a special label and which ones might be better with a generic label (such as 1,2,3,4) which I have used for snack foods that often change.

I laid out all my labels here for my food containers that will go in our small farmhouse pantry. I love that are several labels to choose from, you can be as generic as “PASTA” or as specific as “SPAGHETTI” and “LINGUINE” or use them all, like I did!

Next, you need to peel the labels and stick them to your food containers. Go slow, and line one up with the next so that you can try to get as close to the same level where you place them as you can. It is completely ok if they are not perfect, no one will notice – I promise!

In addition to organizing the small farmhouse pantry in our kitchen, I also labeled some cute 0.5 gallon glass containers on the counter tops! I used the definitions labels for these. And I love having bread in a cute bread box on the counter, too!

Organizing the Pantry

Once you have all your food containers labeled, put them into your pantry and enjoy the refreshingly organized space!

It is so simple to organize a small pantry with cute farmhouse labels and the right containers. Now the pantry is so much more accessible, and holds more now that it is so organized. I hope you are inspired to organize your own small kitchen pantry. Happy organizing!

Omg, you have a perfect kitchen. It looks so good. And the tags are so cute. We don’t have tags on boxes at our home. I guess , it’s a good idea and would be so helpful for anyone using the kitchen.

You are so right about working out what food you need to keep! I get so confused also by having everything in silver containers, when trying to find things – especially the sugar and the salt! I love your tips and labels and hope to sort out my pantry when I have spare time.

This looks amazing! I have similar canisters that I use in my pantry and love being able to see everything. I don’t have gorgeous labels, though. I write it with dry-erase markers because the ingredients often change. Maybe when I get enough canisters for everything I’ll do nice labels.

This is great- I actually have those containers, but I don’t have the labels yet. And we have a farmhouse kitchen!
