San Francisco is one of the US’ most popular tourist destinations. Boasting loads of great beaches, shops, and other attractions, it’s no wonder than this historical place gets so much attention. Even the little things, like the homes in residential areas, are stylised strongly with bright colours and interesting shapes dominating the scene. Of course, though, every city changes when night rolls around. To help you to find the best nighttime attractions in this beautiful city, this post will be exploring some of them, giving you the chance to enjoy something different on your next break.

Ghost Tours

Having such a rich history, there are plenty of places in San Francisco which some claim are haunted. Whether you’re interested in ghosts and the paranormal, or would simply like to explore the city in a different light, a ghost walking tour is an excellent way to see a city like this. You will visit some of the most prominent spots, learn their history, and may even have a scare or two along the way, making for a bone-chilling experience which will be locked in your mind for years to come.

Visiting The Prison

Just off of the coast of San Francisco, nearby the Golden Gate Bridge, you will find a small island called Alcatraz. It is closed as a prison now, but this island was once renowned as one of the world’s most secure prisons. Nighttime is often the best time to visit, as you will have the chance to take another spooky tour, learning about what life was like for the poor souls who were trapped here. Even the journey to the island can be a treat when the visibility is good.

Beach Parties

Nightlife is very important to a lot of people when they go on vacation, with the idea of spending each evening doing nothing being very boring. Thanks to the wealth of beautiful beaches surrounding San Francisco, there are loads of beach parties going on each evening. Some will have food, while others will be just for drinking, but they will all give you the opportunity to experience a different side of this city.

Late Night Shopping

This final option won’t appeal to everyone, but some will love the chance to do some late night shopping. San Francisco is filled with loads of interesting and unique stores, ranging from clothing to car parts and just about everything in between. It’s worth doing some research before you set off if you want to go down this route, but you should be able to find all of the information you need around the web. It will be great fun to see what treasures you can find.

With all of this in mind, you should be feeling far more confident that you’ll be able to make proper use of your time in San Francisco. Cities like this change an awful lot when it starts to get dark, though a lot of people never get to see this side of the places they visit.
