Organizing Pop-Up Camper Storage Compartments {Pop-Up Camping}

The storage bins in a pop-up camper can quickly become a trashed mess full of anything and everything. If you read my post on organizing a pop up camper, I showed you how to organize everything in bins that are stored on the floor of the camper. In this post I will share how I organize the built-in storage cabinets and bench storage compartments under the dinettes of our pop-up camper.

Below is a picture of the floor plan of our pop up camper for reference. This post will walk you through how we organize and store items in the cabinets built into the camper. We also use a variety of bins to organize items we bring into the camper for every trip. The post on organizing those bins for camping can be found in my organizing a pop up camper post.

Organizing the bins under the dinette seats

In the longest bin under the larger dinette, we store our camping chairs, portable projector screen, and sports equipment. This is the best place to keep long items in our camper.

In the other bin under the larger dinette, the bottom is angled so we store the extra blankets and pillows here because they are flexible, and this cupboard is angled so square or inflexible items do not fit.

In the storage compartment under the smaller dinette we store the grill, stove, and outdoor lights. Mini fans and extension cords are also stored in here. It makes sense to us to store the items that we take out when we arrive in this bin.

In the other storage compartment under the smaller dinette we store the life jackets and other small water use items.

Organizing the storage cabinets with doors

In the cabinet closest to the door I store all the dishes and pans. It is quite large because it is meant for a portable potty but using it to store cookware is much more efficient for our family. We do a lot of cooking and we always camp with bathrooms so this seemed like a better use for our needs.

In the smallest cabinet with a door, under the sink, I store cutting boards, a sink drainer and soaps and cloths. In the smaller storage cabinet with doors we store utensils and paper goods. You can see more of how we organize these cabinets on my organizing a pop up camper post, where I go in-depth on what are in these cabinets, how I store them, and how I sort and organize everything.

    My best friend when I was growing up had a pop up camper and I would go away for the weekend with her family all the time. Those pop up campers can turn into absolute wrecks in the snap of your fingers if you dont keep them organized! Your guide is awesome, and when we are finally ready to buy our camper I am definitely referring to this!

    I love how well you’ve utilized the space! We had a full camper when I was growing up but still used the space in similar ways. In a few months we’ll be going tent camping as a family with the Scouts so even though it’ll be in a tent you’ve still given me some great ideas!

    Wow what a organized camper! Sometimes I find very difficult to organize stuff in small places but there you go, you are a good example of organization

    You have a very organized camper, and plenty of cabinets to “hide” your things! I would love to camp in there!!
