My Favorite Paper Towel Alternative – Swedish Dishcloth Review

Our family has been trying to reduce waste in our home, and one of the easiest ways we have found to do this is to reduce paper towel waste. My favorite paper towel alternative are these amazing Swedish Dishcloths, easily found on Amazon. Not only are the super absorbent, reusable, and affordable, but they have NO smell! Take a look at my review of these awesome paper towel alternatives!

Here are some facts about Swedish Dishcloths:

  • They absorb 20x their weight
  • You can reuse them over 50 times
  • European made
  • Naturally resists odors
  • Each 10 pack of Swedish Dishcloths eliminates up to 150 rolls of paper towels

One of my favorite things about Swedish Dishcloths is that they combine the super absorbency of cellulose sponge with the benefits of a traditional hand tea-towel – absorbing 20x their weight. This means when I am cleaning up spills and messes, I can do it quickly without needing a ton of paper towels. My kids make tons of messes and I have to clean and dry our counters multiple times per day. Having a quality reusable dishcloth is a necessity, and the best ones I have found by far are Swedish Dishcloths.

And, they are soft to touch when they are wet yet have the grit needed to scrub like a sponge, making them an excellent for both cleaning and absorbing mess from the counters, unlike paper towels that require lots of cleaner and heavy scrubbing to remove stuck on mess. So much better than using tons of paper towels!

Here is an example to show you how much more absorbent Swedish Dishcloths are than paper towels. I put the same amount of water on the counter and tested both – and the Swedish Dishcloth clearly absorbed the water much better and WAY faster. And when I lifted the Swedish Dishcloth the counter was 100% dry. When I lifted the paper towel I had to fold it and run it over the counter again because the counter had lots of moisture on it still.

Again, I love that Swedish Dish Clothes are eco-friendly – you can reuse them over 50 times but washing them in either the dishwasher or washing machine. They are made from biodegradable cellulose and all natural cotton materials (80% Cellulose / 20% Cotton). And they do NOT stink! I tested my Swedish Dishcloth to wipe a huge mess off my counter that was covered in garlic and seeds, and then rinsed it in the sink and wrung it out and it had NO smell! I have even washed them in the washing machine and the wash just as advertised, coming out clean and ready to use again. You can really save tons of paper towel waste by replacing your paper towels with Swedish Dishcloths!

I keep my Swedish Dishcloths handy on my counter for all the messes in the kitchen. They are super convenient and save paper towel waste (and money). I am so happy I made the switch to Swedish Dishcloths. They really do work as advertised and I feel better that we can really reduce our paper towel waste in our home.

If your ready to give them a try, head to Swedish Wholesale and check them out. And don’t worry because if your not satisfied they offer a 100% money-back guarantee. Are you ready to make the switch to Swedish Dishcloths and reduce your paper towel waste?

I’m so glad I stumbled on your product review, I’ve been looking for sustainable products to use, and this seems pretty perfect. We go through so many sheets of papertowels daily, that this can actually help change our environment in this small way.

these are actually very common in greece, every household has a bunch and they are a life saver! I love yours, they are almost pastel-y soft and they look very absorbing as well!

I’m familiar with the product and I have friends who love them. The soft pastel color and softness make them even more appealing.

What an awesome find! We stopped using paper towels a few years ago as well, but I purchased a bunch of “shop rags” and we use those in the kitchen and for cleaning around the house. These look like they would be a great option for something in between, though! I know it says biodegradable, I wonder if they can go in the compost then?
