DIY Little Girl’s Spa Birthday Party

Ashlyn requested a pampering spa birthday party for her and her friends to celebrate her 7th birthday this year. A day at the spa is something many little girls dream of, but it is very expensive and not always the best place to host a birthday party full of loud and excited little girls. Instead, I decided to host a DIY budget-friendly little girl’s spa party at our house! Hosting a DIY spa birthday party at home allows you to pamper the girls without breaking the bank (and without annoying anyone else who might not appreciate a party of giggly kids at an actual spa!) This party is great for 7 year old girls (or girls age 5 years or older). With a bit of planning and savvy shopping, you can easily throw this DIY spa birthday party for your own little girl!

First, you’ll need to plan what colors you want to use for your DIY girl’s spa birthday party. I decided on light blush pink and white. Almost all of the spa supplies were purchased at my local dollar store or online. The most expensive item I purchased for this spa birthday party was the blush SPA robes to give to the girls (they took them home as party favors which justified the cost). Everything else was very inexpensive. I moved our dinning room table out of the dining room to have the spa set up in here. Each girl’s chair was set up with all the spa party supplies they would need.

The supplies included a small basket to hold their spa items in, a pair of toe separators, a mini nail file, a mirror, and a pouch to store their items in after they take everything home.

For the spa foot bath, I purchased 8 white dish wash basins and stacked books under them to reach the girls feet (some were too short to reach). The flip flops were bought at Old Navy on sale for $1 each.

Of course no party would be complete without snacks and a fancy drink!

I filled a beverage dispenser with ice and sparkling berry water and served it in a Chinet crystal plastic cup (they look just like glass!) with gold paper straws and a mint leaf sprig.

The plates are vintage glass plates I collected from thrift stores, but here are some pretty rose gold plastic plates you can buy for your kids spa party.
The sliced cucumbers are for the girls eyes while they receive pampering facials! To snack on the kids had cubed watermelon, cubed honeydew, sugar snap peas and carrots.

The cupcakes are simply DIY boxed vanilla cupcakes frosted with store-bought buttercream that I dyed blush pink, and topped with a slice of cucumber for decoration.

To set the party scene I set up a giant gold foiled “A” (for Ashlyn) balloon and a few blush pink balloons.

With the party planned, prepped, and set up, all that is left is the fun! Ashlyn’s friends arrived and were ready for all the DIY spa birthday party fun!

First, the girls grabbed their spa robe and found a chair to sit in. They put their feet in a tub of warm water that had some soothing Lavender epsom salt in it.

While their feet were soaking, they received a relaxing spa facial. I enlisted the help of my daughter and her friend to be the spa attendants at Ashlyn’s party!

The girls took a couple cucumbers to hold on their eyes while they were enjoying their spa facials and foot baths.

I think they really enjoyed the cucumbers! It made them feel like they were really at a spa!

The girls looked so cute with their DIY spa facials!

Once they were done with their facials, we cleaned off their face and started on the spa pedicures. The attendants lightly cleaned the girls feet with the tool in each girls spa kit, put toe separators on the girls feet, and let them choose their toe polish colors.

While the girls were relaxing and enjoying their spa pedicures, they snacked on cupcakes, cookies, fruit, and sipped on their fancy sparkly water. Truly pampered!

Lets see all those pretty toes!

Once the girls were done with the facial and pedicure part of the DIY spa birthday party we played musical chairs to get the wiggles out before opening presents.

After the game, Ashlyn opened her gifts.

Lastly, the girls made bath bombs to take home. This came last since it involved moving the table back to the dining room to do the DIY bath bomb craft. I ordered this kit to make the bath bombs. It was easy to use and the girls had fun making them!

Ashlyn had so much fun at her DIY spa birthday party! With just a little planning and prep work, you can create this spa birthday party at home to pamper your little girl for her birthday!
