If there is one thing we always have to consider when it comes to painting, it’s how will the light in my house react with this color. While the color may be exactly what you want when it’s in the tin, when it hits the wall, you may not like it at all.
This is often an occurrence when people decorate, but it turns out, it is absolutely nothing to do with the color of the paint. Next time you get a paint tester, if it doesn’t look great on one wall, maybe go and try it in another room, you may be surprised.
The simple fact is, when it comes to decorating, the most crucial factor is how the light reacts with your living area. If you can improve this, then you will end up with a brand new lease of life for your house.
The best way to get started is to brighten up around the window areas. Painting the surrounds and glossed areas in a brilliant pure white is an excellent way of reflecting the light.

Another fabulous way to give the home some new life is to upcycle and also revamp some of your old furniture.
If there is one item around the house that takes more use than most, it’s the couch. While it may be tempting sometimes to throw caution to the wind and buy another one, this is never going to be a cost-effective way of living.

Sometimes, if you have just had your couch cleaned, you may feel the need to have the floors transform too. If your home has carpet, it is now very cheap to buy a tremendous wet and dry vacuum, and these great little hoovers will get your carpet looking brand new in no time.
If, on the other hand, you have wooden floors, you may want to call in a specialist. While your floors can be cleaned rather quickly, you can have them wholly refinished, and this adds something phenomenal to the whole house.
The last thing on the list when it comes to our simple makeover it’s putting to use your crafty skills and taking to some upcycling.
Upcycling can be fun, and most people turn it into a hobby. We all have pieces of furniture sitting around that have seen better days. So why not put your skills to the test and give it a brand new look.
The simplest things to start with are things like kitchen chairs. For a very low price, you can reupholster and paint the whole chair to make it look brand new.
