How to Create a DIY Vintage Farmhouse Gallery Wall
Charm is something I try to add to every part of our home. I love adding vintage pieces throughout to home to add farmhouse character to our newer home. It is so simple to create a DIY gallery wall using vintage pieces, and it is a great way to display those pieces in a cohesive way that makes a statement in the room. Here I will show you how to create a DIY vintage farmhouse gallery wall using old art prints to add cottage farmhouse charm to your home!
To begin, you will need to collect some vintage art from thrift stores. Here is a look at some of the art prints that I found from thrift stores. I decided on a floral theme, so I looked for variety of prints in shape, size and composure, but with a dark wood or gold frame so that they would coordinate.
I like having one focal piece in my photo collages, which in this case is an oval print with a very ornate gold frame. It was really fun to thrift for these frames, you never know what you will find!
Once you have a set of old vintage art prints, lay them out and arrange them in the way you would like them to be displayed on the wall.
To avoid lots of holes on my wall, for most photo collages I create I use command strips. I flip all the prints upside-down, remove any hanging hardware that might cause issues with handing, and then add the command strips to each one.
Next, you will want to choose where the center photo on the wall will be. For this wall I selected my focal print, the ornate oval framed print, and placed it centered on the wall where I want to hang my collage.
I don’t care much for trying to measure everything, instead I just one by one eyeball where I want to hang the print, using the layout I created as a guide. The beauty of a collage wall like this is it won’t matter if it’s not perfect! And thanks to command strips, if one is off too far just move it! Here is a look at the finished wall!
This is such an easy way to create some farmhouse charm to a room. Just find some vintage art pieces, lay them out, and hang!
You can even add to it later. Take a look at the wall a few months later as I continued to move an add fun pieces I picked up at the thrift store. It is so simple and easy to create a DIY vintage farmhouse gallery wall using old art prints and it will add so much cottage farmhouse charm to your home!
And if you want to change the frames and brighten up the space, try chalk painting them all white! And would you believe I recently gave this whole room was a complete makeover? Check out how I transformed this room from an office to a guest bedroom here!

This is such a cute idea! My husband’s grandmother has so many frames and artwork like this around her house. She’s always asking if we want anything, so I may ask for some of them next time we are there.
