Great Wolf Lodge – A Fun Family Vacation near Seattle {Ground Mound, WA}

Weekend getaways are my favorite thing to do here in Seattle. I am always looking for fun weekend trips for my family that entertain the kids and are fun for the adults, too! Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, WA is the perfect weekend getaway (or weekday!) for families. There is so much to do, all centered around an epic indoor water park! Indoors is so important because of how rainy it is in the Seattle – this means that you can enjoy the fun year-round without worrying about the not-so-dependable weather.

Disclaimer: Thank you to Great Wolf Lodge for sponsoring our visit and providing our lunch. All opinions are mine alone.

First and foremost, lets talk about the water park. It’s AMAZING! Every Great Wolf Lodge has a massive indoor water park. That is SO important living in the Seattle area because of the pretty much constantly wet weather. There are several attractions inside the water park most suitable for all ages, but there is also a toddler play area.

Fort Mackenzie & Totem Tower Water Slides

All of my kids loved this! There are so many activities and water features as you climb the fort – and then you get to pick a body slide to exit the fort!

Slap Tail Pond Wave Pool

This wave pool was also fun for the whole family. When the waves get roaring you are thrown about everywhere! It is SO FUN!

Howlin’ Tornado & River Canyon Run

These attractions at Great Wolf Lodge are suitable for 42″ or taller only, one is 48″ or taller only. This was a favorite of my oldest – and I thought it was CRAZY FUN too!

Chinook Cove & Big Foot Pond

This area is fun for swimming and playing hoops, and attempting the fun rope and pond attraction!

Lotsa Water Dump Zone

The kids LOVED this area! They would wait for the water to fill up every minute or so and get super excited as it dumped all over them! I liked this part, too!

Cub Paw Pool

My youngest played here for hours! He really loved the slides and the ride on toys that had built in water squirters!

It was really great that all 3 of my children, age 2,7, and 12, could enjoy the water park at Great Wolf Lodge. My oldest spent a lot of time riding the big attractions, my 7 year old loved to play in the wave pool, and my youngest spent tons of time in the toddler play area!

Food

For lunch there are tons of great options, including delicious pizza from Hungry As A Wolf. We got a cheese and a Hawaiian pizza. Both were delicious and huge! You can also purchase drinks (including alcoholic beverages) throughout the lodge.

Other Fun at Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge is more than just an indoor water park; you enjoy a stay in one of their cozy hotel rooms and can eat and play tons of fun games throughout the lodge during your stay.

Gather in the main area for activities and events, including a nightly story time with Great Wolf Lodge characters.

Explore the lodge while playing MagiQuest – a super fun game where you complete quests at little stations throughout the lodge to win the game.

Play cool games at the arcade! It’s huge; there’s something for everyone in here.

Create your own Build-A-Bear to commemorate your trip!

Grab a treat from Bear Paw Sweets & Eats.

There is SO much more, you’ll have to visit to see for yourself. Visiting Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, WA is a perfect family-friendly weekend getaway near Seattle!
