Located in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, Plymouth is home to around six thousand people. Though small, this town punches above its weight in terms of historical interest. Whether you’re coming for a visit or just passing through, Plymouth has something for everyone.

Washington State Park

Head to Motgomery County’s Fort Washington State Park for a family picnic or hike through the famed 493 acre grounds. If you’re interested in flora, you’ll enjoy the dogwood trees which flower in the spring, and you won’t be disappointed where fauna is concerned, with Hawk Watch, an organised event on the observation deck from which you can see all species of migrating raptor. While hunting is not allowed at Fort Washington State Park, the location offers a variety of other recreational activities, like fishing, Disc Golf, dog walking, bird watching, sledging and cross-country skiing in the winter. 

Hovenden House, Barn and Abolition Hall

Hovenden House, Barn and Abolition Hall is a cluster of historic structures located in Plymouth Meeting, a census-designated place in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County. This historic location was a key station on what is known as the Underground Railroad. With a capacity of up to two hundred people, Abolition Hall played host to gatherings of the Montgomery County Anti-Slavery Society. Founded in 1837 by George Corson, Abolition hall was utilised for lectures delivered by prominent figures in abolitionary history, among them Harriet Beecher Stowe, William Lloyed Garrison, Frederick Douglass and Lucretia Mott. After its life as gathering place for abolitionists, Abolition Hall became a studio Thomas Hovenden, a renowned local artist. 

Plymouth Meeting Mall

Home to over eighty speciality stores and top restaurants, Plymouth Meeting Mall is proudly one of the first malls to open its doors in North America. Built to serve the community, the mall even had a church within its walls. Nowadays, the mall offers retail therapy and much-needed shopping fuel for locals and visitors to Plymouth Meeting. A central Food Court is a gourmet hub while outlying eateries offer a wide variety of cuisines to suit every palate.
