Fabulous and Fun Activities to Enjoy With Your Kids
Spending time with your children is one of your favorite pastimes and although you’d count yourself as pretty creative, you’re always looking for new activities that they’ll enjoy. Whether you’re baking sugar cookies or going on nature trails with your kids, there are so many active, creative and memorable things you can do together. It allows you to bond as a family and it prevents them from getting bored during a rainy weekend. Here are some fabulous and fun ideas, you will definitely want to start exploring now!
Arts and Crafts
Getting crafty with your kids will never get old, especially if they have an artistic streak inside of them that’s just waiting to shine through. Pull out your craft box and let them get creative in whatever way they want. You could also give them projects to do, if you want them to follow instructions. Take a look at my favorite cloud slime activities and grab some inspiration there too! Kids absolutely love making slime, so it’s a guaranteed crowed pleaser.
Baking
Baking in the kitchen with your little ones is a lot of fun, even if it’s also pretty messy. You will end up with some delicious tasty treats at the end of it, which is definitely an added bonus! Cook up a storm with a three tiered sponge cake or go healthy with some oaty granola bars. Even if you’re not a top baker yourself, you will be able to find some easy, kid friendly recipes online.

Drawing
There is something so calming about grabbing a pencil and a piece of paper and just allowing yourself to draw. Kids absolutely love it too. Pulling out a brand new pad of paper and some colored pencils is guaranteed to keep them entertained for at least an hour. As soon as they get into their flow, you won’t be able to stop them from creating.
Writing
Getting your kids to write stories on a regular basis is amazing for their education and creativity. Allow their imaginations to run wild and you will soon be reading some pretty funny, witty and amazing stories that they’ve created all by themselves. Give them as much guidance as they need, but remember it’s meant to be a fun activity; allow them to get a little silly if they want to!
Park Walks
Your kids will benefit so much from having a little bit of fresh air every day, so why not schedule in a park walk for your next weekend activity? Write a checklist of things they need to find during their walk from funny shaped leaves to creepy crawlies. Not only will they be getting some exercise, but they will also have a lot of fun on their mini treasure hunt too!
Allowing your kids to get creative, crafty and experimental will work wonders for their development. Although some of the ideas mentioned above might seem a little messy, it will all be worth it when you see the smile on their face. Try something new this weekend and see how much they love it!
