Decorating a Fall Farmhouse Entryway with Neutral Faux Pumpkins and Florals
Fall is one of my favorite times of year, and definitely my favorite season to decorate! I pull together a farmhouse cottage look in my entryway with simple fall faux pumpkins and faux greens in a neutral color palette. I stick to a muted palette of greens and white, forgoing the traditional darker colors of autumn such as orange and brown. The lighter, muted color palette keeps my home looking light and fresh, even in the rainy and darker days of fall. Here is a look at how I decorate my entryway for fall with neutral faux pumpkins and florals to create a super cozy neutral fall home.
My entryway has three areas that I decorate for fall. The first area is our shiplap wall – you can see our DIY faux shiplap tutorial here, where I style my favorite console table with some beautiful fall vignettes.
Using some simple ceramic pitchers here to one side of my console table, I fill them each with some of my greenery. I love to use a variety of picks and stems for added interest and texture. The variety blends together well and makes the space look so pretty!
The center of my console table is a large rustic farmhouse sign. I love how this large sign centers the space and brings it all together.
The other side of my console table holds this cute tiered wooden tray filled with lots of petite decor, and a fall candle from Bridgeway Scented Market. I like to use candles as decor, and since I burn them so much I need them in every room. Harvest Spice is such a warm and delicious scent for fall – but I actually burn this one year round.
I like to balance the greens with the white and wood tones, making sure to use a variety of textures and shapes in the same color tones throughout the space to tie everything together.
On the bottom of my console table I layered some pretty neutral fall linen pillows with more faux greens and pumpkins. I use faux greens and pumpkins often in my fall decor to create vignettes. You can see more about how I create fall vignettes with faux pumpkins and greens here.
To create this look, between the pillows I have staggered several faux pumpkins in shades of white and green. I collect a variety of faux pumpkins from the local craft stores each fall, always adding pumpkins that look realistic and stay in the shades of green and white I have chosen for my fall color palette. I linked a few online favorites at the end of this post as well.
Using several different styles of faux pumpkins adds a lot of interest and adds to the realistic look. Too many similar pumpkins can look boring and repetitive. More faux greenery in white cement pots balance out the other side of the console table shown here.
I don’t like to make things too symmetrical, the variety keeps the space interesting and fun! But I do make sure to have a similar amount of items on either side, and that each side has a balanced amount of green and white.
Next to my console table is my sitting bench with another neutral linen fall pillow displayed. Gather is the perfect word for the fall season!
The second area in my entryway that I decorate is this small space where a small dresser to catch junk is located. On top, I have a vintage metal basket layered with fabric pumpkins and more faux greens to create a pretty fall vignette, with another favorite fall candle from Bridgeway Scented Market. Gather is a wonderful scent, and I love that it greets my guests with such a welcoming word.
The third space in my entryway is our family room, or sitting room, which is directly off to the left of our front door and open to the entryway. It’s important to style this room seasonally since it is one of the first things you see when you walk in my home. You can see how I style my hutch here or how I style my family room for Christmas here.
One of the nice things about selecting green and white for my fall color palette is that I use a lot of the same tones year round, so when I change my decor for the season it will blend well with what is already here. It is a time and money saver because I wont need to add very much to update the room for the season.
For this room I simply added a farmhouse table runner with a galvanized tray full of faux pumpkins and greenery. I layered a few leaves in this tray, to give the pumpkins a pumpkin patch like look. And of course, like every space in my house, I’ve added another fall candle from Bridgeway Scented Market. Pumpkin Cider is one of my favorite scents, and I love to display it near my faux pumpkins.
The leaves are so pretty and neutral, I can image styling them all over my house for fall.
Thank you for touring my fall entryway. I hope my faux pumpkin and greenery decor ideas inspire your own fall decor this autumn for your home!
