Decorating a Pop-Up Camper with Retro & Vintage Vibes {Pop-Up Camping}

I have seen so many amazing pop-up camper DIYs and renovations of old campers that I am in love with. Although we purchased our camper new I am very much in love with cozy retro and vintage vibes from yesteryear and wanted to add that old-time camping ambiance to our newer camper. Take a look at how I added a cozy vintage vibe with retro decor to my pop-up camper and be inspired to create your own amazing vintage space in your camper!

First, I changed out the boring, ugly bunk-end curtains with some fun DIY camper curtains with stripes and a pop of yellow. I feel like having fun curtains is one of the easiest ways to change the vibe of any room, including a pop-up camper!

To continue to add vintage vibes to my pop-up camper I headed to a few of my favorite thrift stores and combed through the linens, kitchen and camping areas to find a few pieces that would bring that retro look into my camper. What better place to look for vintage goods than a thrift store? My first goal was to find some fun throw pillows that set the mood. I was looking for pastels and fun patterns and fonts that reminded me of old school campers. I found a couple watercolor pillows, a blue striped pillow and this fun pillow that says “too rad to be sad” in a super fun font!

As I was shopping I kept my eye out for pieces that clearly weren’t from this era, like this little ice box. The items needed to be practical too, so having an ice box to make drinks in our pop-up camper is perfect!

I loved the color of this igloo cooler – the green is so vintage and fun!

For the table, an easy way to add cozy vintage vibes is to add a tablecloth. I found this blush striped turkish towel with fringe to use as a tablecloth!

Some items were not vintage but had a retro look to them. These Target placemats, also found at the thrift store, have such a fun dark yellow plaid pattern I decided to add those to our camper as well. They will make for great placemats for the kids, and they are cute! And how cute is this little enamel green coffee mug?

Another awesome use for these placemats is to cover the sink when not in use, to use as another surface!

The last thing I did to really add cozy vintage vibes to our pop-up camper was to add fun colored baskets and accessories. Pastels were on my mind and I found these 2 mint green baskets to organize with, and filled them with fun pastel cups, plates, and another super cute cup I found at the thrift store!

There you have it, a few easy and simple ways to add cozy vintage vibes to a new (or any) pop-up camper. Happy Camping!
