Decorating a Neutral Farmhouse Fall Fireplace Hearth & Mantle

Decorating a neutral farmhouse fall fireplace hearth and mantle is simple and fun! You just need a combination of faux florals and containers to display them in, some faux pumpkins, a large fall farmhouse sign, and some small accent pieces in neutral and earth tones. I like to layer a combination of all these things to create an interesting and stunning fall fireplace hearth and mantle. Terracotta pots and vintage amber bottles bring in some of the earthier tones I use for this fall farmhouse fireplace mantle. Pillows and throw blankets layered in baskets also make this space extra cozy. Here is a look at how I decorated a neutral farmhouse fall fireplace hearth and mantle.

This year I am extra excited to create this cozy and neutral farmhouse fall mantle and hearth because it is the first fall I actually have a large hearth to decorate. Earlier this year we completely rebuilt this fireplace, adding the brick to a once very bland and plain fireplace. Now with the raised hearth, I have a whole area I can layer fall decor in addition to the mantle!

To create this neutral and cozy fall farmhouse fireplace hearth, I first added some vintage crocks and filled them with various fall floral stems in earth tones and creams. I like to mix and match the stems for added variety.

By placing one large crock on one side, and two smaller crocks layered on the other side, the fireplace hearth has some balance while not being perfectly symmetrical on both sides. Decorating in 3’s is always a good idea anyways.

Between the crocks, I put a bundle of birch logs and some cream and green faux pumpkins. I like to add the birch logs because we have a gas fireplace, and the logs make it look a little cozier!

Then, to extend the hearth even further, I have added a vintage cream milk jug to one side of the fireplace hearth and on the other side is a basket filled with neutral pillows and throws. I like how having pieces on either side draw the eye to the edges of the fall fireplace mantle vignette, and create a warm and cozy space. The pillows shown here are from Linen & Ivory.

All of the pillows with words are linen color in 20″ – this fall pillow is my fav!! The grey striped layering pillow is also 20″ in size. (You can use code RAINANDPINE to shop).

Above the fireplace hearth, I have decorated the mantle with some neutral and earthy fall tones. The very center of the mantle is an extra large fall farmhouse sign from Oh Sweet Skye. This sign is white with an aged wash, black lettering, and a medium stained frame in the 48×36″ size.

On either side of the sign, I layered some vintage amber bottles and terracotta pots with a few faux floral stems. I tipped the pots over to give them a spilling effect. On the mantle I layered a eucalyptus garland and a mini wreath with the sign. I love how the greenery really pops from the white and cream color of the shiplap fireplace mantle and the fall farmhouse sign.

Here is a look at the whole fall farmhouse fireplace hearth and mantle! Everything really comes together and is so well balanced. I really enjoyed using creams and earth tones to create this look.

The fireplace mantle decor really compliments my Boutique Rugs rug! (You can use code rainandpine60 or rainandpine55 if the first one doesn’t work).

To create this look for your farmhouse fireplace hearth and mantle this fall, look for some earth toned bottles and pots, and shop for some cream and earthy faux floral sprigs to layer throughout the space. You can buy large crocks online if you can’t find them while thrifting, or you could use baskets. Simply layer some favorite neutral and cozy throws and pillows in a basket to create the basket look I have here as well. And most importantly, center the whole fireplace with a large fall farmhouse sign that you love!
