De-cluttering your livingroom and keeping it organized

Keeping your living room clutter-free can be difficult to say the least. There is probably a lot of stuff that can be thrown out, but if you do then you may regret it at a later date, and the mere thought of this is enough to induce some level of anxiety. If you want to de-clutter your living room once and for all, then you need to take care of it one day at a time.

Flat Surfaces

The first thing that you need to do is look over any flat surfaces. If you have piles of books, ornaments or anything else of the sort, then these need to go. It’s important to know that you don’t need to throw all of this away, instead just put them back where they belong. For example, books need to go on the bookcase, ornaments need to go into the storage cabinet and so forth. If you have items that just don’t have a place, then this is what needs to be thrown away.

Desk Drawers

Desk drawers are notorious for attracting clutter. You may find that they are full of old bills that you need to shred, and that they are full of appliance manuals too. If you want to make a difference here, then invest in a shredder and get rid of anything that is of remote importance. You also need to make sure that you put any manuals or important documents into a folder. When you do this, you can keep your space much tidier and you can also really help yourself to stop the problem from happening again. Of course, if you want to take things to that next level then you need to think about whether or not you actually need the desk. If you don’t then there are plenty of online marketplaces that give you the opportunity to sell Eames furniture.

Bookshelves

Getting rid of books can be difficult, but if they are not being treated with some level of honor or even respect then you need to make a decision. You need to ask everyone in your home to bring down every book that they have so that you can sort them. For every book that you decide to keep, you then need to make a decision to sell one. This will help you to really make some progress with your clutter.

Children and Pets

It’s always a good idea to buy some tubs that will help you to store any clutter. It’s understandable that you wouldn’t want to throw away your children’s art, awards or even photos, so organize them into folders and then store them in boxes. You then need to sort through all of your pet’s toys and clutter. Find a nice, tall tub to put them in and then store that somewhere it can’t be seen. This way, you can keep everything you need without having to worry. The best thing about choosing a tall tub for your pet is that it will take up less space under the cupboard and it will also help you to avoid storing endless items that are far too big.

I love to declutter my room. I started to declutter my room this year, there’s just too many things piling everywhere. Having an organized environment make me feel more comfortable than ever.

this post was written with me in mind, my home is full of clutter, the ones I need and ones which I have not used in years.
Clutter just complicate life and one loses so much time rummaging through clutter looking for things.
Did I mention that clutter can cost money? kI know clutter has cost me money in the past when I could not find a bill, forget about it then having to pay extra for not paying on time.

Ah the decluttering process. I have tried to do it with tubs and while I wouldn’t want to just dump all of my kids stuff out, when I have used tubs in the past these items disappear into the tubs, never to be seen from again. It’s the getting organized with the stuff you put into tubs that becomes difficult.

Ugh, I hate clutter but I’m a habitually lazy person when it comes to putting things back in their place, especially when it comes to books and paperwork. I should definitely start using folders. 😛
