Creating a Rustic & Neutral Fall Centerpiece with Vintage Finds
Creating a rustic and neutral fall centerpiece with vintage finds and antiques simply requires that you have some fun vintage pieces in earth tones and neutrals, layered with some pretty faux fall stems. For this fall centerpiece, I style my vintage pieces and antiques in an old antique crate. I love the rustic wood tone of the crate for fall. Layered with some greens and earthy fall florals, a vintage marshmallows tin, old books, and some white pumpkins made from vintage chenille fabrics.
This vintage crate is large enough to layer a few different containers, so I have a large vintage campfire marshmallows tin and two vintage crocks layered in this fall centerpiece. Decorating in 3’s is one of my favorite rules, and using 3 containers in this fall centerpiece worked well.
I also use 3 pumpkins to continue the rule of 3’s in this fall centerpiece. These white pumpkins are made from vintage chenille fabrics. I love how bright and neutral they are!
In the crocks I have some fall floral stems and greenery layered as well. To give some added height to the pumpkin in the middle of the centerpiece I stacked some vintage books. The books are in a green color which look perfect in fall decor.
Everything in this fall centerpiece is neutral with white, cream, and earth tones. These are colors I love to use when I am decorating for fall. Using an antique marshmallow tin and vintage crocks also adds character – and even the pumpkins are made with vintage chenille fabric.
To create a rustic and neutral fall centerpiece for your home, look for vintage pieces and antiques at your local thrift store. I try to look for colors that I am using for fall, which in this case is cream, white, and earthy tones like brown, green, as well as things in woods or basket materials. Copper is also one of my favorite vintage pieces to style for fall farmhouse decor.
Styling a fall centerpiece should be fun! There aren’t any rules to it, just whatever catches your eye. By layering different pieces in rustic and neutral tones, and using the rule of 3’s when you can, your fall centerpiece will have balance and look cohesive. Sometimes it takes moving the items around and switching things out a few times before you get the fall centerpiece to look exactly the way you like it.
To recreate this fall farmhouse centerpiece look for a large rustic wooden crate first. Once you have a vintage wooden crate that you like for the space, look for some containers to layer fall stems and greens in. You can use vintage tins and crocks like I have done here, or you can use baskets, pitchers, or anything that works well in neutral colors. Using a variety of sizes and heights is a good idea. You will also need some vintage books, and some faux pumpkins that you like. Once you have all the supplies, move and layer until you love the look!
