Create A Technologically Advanced Home In Three Steps

The beauty of home design is that you can take it in so many different directions. Some people want to design a very rural and rustic home that represents properties from yesteryear. Others like to follow a specific theme throughout the property – like minimalism. So many ideas can take shape and form in your mind, but what about making a technologically advanced home?

What needs to be done to make this dream a reality? It’s not overly challenging, and you can see some impressive results after three simple steps…

Smart devices and appliances

If you want a technologically advanced home, you need to fill it with smart devices and appliances. Honestly, you can find smart devices for just about every room in your house. There are smart plugs, smart light bulbs, and even smart fridges. These devices are all connected to apps on your phone – or other smart things, like an Amazon Echo. As such, you can basically control your home with voice commands and the click of a button. Imagine being able to turn the kettle on when you’re in your room and walk downstairs to freshly boiled water?!

TVs in your bed

This isn’t new, but I love the idea of bed frames with built-in TVs. If you’ve ever been bed shopping, you may have come across these before. Essentially, you have a TV built into the foot of your bed. It’s concealed away at the bottom, but one click of a button will see it rise up, ready to view. Personally, I think this makes your bedroom far more technologically advanced and almost creates a home cinema vibe. Plus, it has the benefit of not taking up any space in the room. So, there’s no need for a TV stand or anything else, freeing up this space for other means.

A new home security system

A clear sign that a home is technologically advanced is the security system it uses. Traditional systems are quite simply made up of an intruder alarm. Modern systems are far more advanced and can make your home super tech-savvy. You can get a home alarm that makes different sounds depending on the emergency. If there’s a medical problem, it makes a different tune to when there’s a break-in. Then, you have security cameras and motion sensors that track movements all-around your home. You can even get a doorbell with a video camera that lets you see who comes knocking. If you want to take things to the next level, you could install modern security locks in your home. Instead of a key, you can use a fingerprint sensor or a keypad! This will make your home feel like something out of a spy movie.

After three simple steps, your home instantly looks and feels more technologically advanced. The benefits of this are that you create a more modern-looking home, as well as one that’s built for the future. You can wow guests with all the technology, making your house the envy of all your friends.
