Cozy Up Your Patio with Joss & Main
Now that our deck has been completely refinished and we built our covered pergola, it is time to shop for some key pieces to refresh our outdoor space. We do a lot of outdoor entertaining at our house, so I want to make sure our deck is both cozy and inviting. My plan is to add a new rug and gas fire pit to really center the space around the couch area where people will be gathering. The fire pit is a big deal because we host a lot of parties and movie nights throughout the summer, and a fire pit will not only be fun but add warmth for our guests.
The hardest part is deciding which rug and which fire pit to order! I know I want to order from Joss & Main, because they have a great selection of outdoor items that fit any style and they always have great prices. I have three styles in mind for this patio update – “Modern Farmhouse,” “Rustic Cottage,” and “Eclectic Home.” All three styles work well with my Cottage/Farmhouse style home, and are beautiful choices for an outdoor space.
LOOK 1: Modern Farmhouse
For this look, you get the cozy feel of a farmhouse with some functional modern touches. Colors stay neutral to reflect the old farmhouse style but are modernized with sturdy and practical finishes. A concrete fire pit and a neutral striped rug pair well to add both texture and coziness, while blending the new with old. Other accents for this look include concrete planters and mixed metals.

Look 2: Rustic Cottage
For this look, I picked a wood fire pit and a jute rug. Using lots of natural elements creates a rustic cottage style look. Colors are very neutral but with earthy and wood tones throughout. Other accents include terracotta planters and Earthy toned decor.

Look 3: Eclectic Home
Eclectic means just that, mix and match! What I love about this look is the use of bold patterns with just a hint of color. A floral rug and a rattan fire pit add a fun eclectic mix of textures and patterns to a patio. Accessorize with fun planters having bold black and white patterns. Add small pops of color but balance the look by using mostly browns and blacks. Â
