Cottage Style Christmas Wrapping Paper Ideas

Wrapping paper is a fun and festive way to style your Christmas presents under the tree. My favorite style of wrapping paper is a simple, rustic theme, using plain kraft paper and neutral colors to dress up our gifts. This style looks beautiful in a farmhouse or cottage style home, under a traditional or flocked Christmas tree. It is very easy and simple to create this look under your own tree – check out these easy and simple DIY tips below to create your own cottage style Christmas wrapping paper theme!

I usually layer my presents using 4-5 types of wrapping paper, always with a kraft paper of some sort. This year I am using black buffalo plaid, white with gold, and various kraft paper wrapping paper rolls to create this look under my Christmas tree.

I also like to incorporate a touch of gold, so this white wrapping paper with gold “Merry Christmas” is the start for the first gift bundle.

I usually try to wrap square and rectangle packages only. Odd shapes will be placed in coordinating gift bags. I love how this white and gold simple wrapping paper looks. So festive though it is very neutral!

One of the things I usually do with my gifts to create a beautiful neutral, cottage style gift bundle is to layer two or more gifts and wrap them with a simple ribbon. Usually these will be gifts that go together in a set or have a theme.

For this bundle I contrast the white and gold wrapping paper with a gift wrapped in black and white buffalo plaid. The gifts are bundled together with a simple and neutral wide ribbon and a farmhouse style wooden gift tag.

To create the rustic cottage style look under my Christmas tree, I continue to wrap my presents with the same process. Layering contrasting but neutral wrapping papers, using lots of kraft paper and neutral ribbons. All the gifts have a wooden or rustic style tag attached.

That’s it! It is simply that easy to create this look. Here is a look at the presents under my tree this year to inspire your own rustic cottage style Christmas wrapping paper theme.

Have fun creating your own rustic and neutral cottage style wrapping paper theme this year for your Christmas tree. Remember, mixing and matching neutral elements is encouraged.
