A Pastel & Whimsical Girls Bedroom

Unicorns and magical, pretty things fill Ashlyn’s big girl bedroom. She loves pastels, rainbows, ruffles, and everything adorable! At first, my youngest two children shared a bedroom but we knew that we wanted to give them their own space as they got older. So at age 6, Ashlyn’s bedroom became completely her own. This room is created with pastel colors of blues and pinks and uses lots of super cute Kawaii pieces of decor. Here is an updated look at Ashlyn’s pastel and whimsical girls bedroom with all the Kawaii and pastel goodies!

Everything in her room is soft pastel shades of pink and blue and grey, with pops of soft colors. To make the room special and just for her, I added a little custom name pillow and hung her name on her wall with some cute DIY banner letters.

Ashlyn’s loves unicorns and happy things, so I decorated with lots of pastel colors, unicorns, and happy Kawaii creatures. On this side of the room is her display wall with all the pretty things she loves (mostly unicorns!) but also bunnies, rainbows, and kawaii things. I love these house shelves and how cute they are for displaying all her cute whimsical decor pieces.

She loves to play kitchen more than anything else, so I found a pink retro kitchen, a pastel smoothie set, and a pastel mixer set to play with. They not only are fun to play with, but are perfectly pastel and looks super cute in her whimsical and pastel kids bedroom!

Her bed is the Ikea Minnen convertible bed, which can be adjusted to 3 different lengths fitting a toddler bed through a twin size bed. Ashlyn’s bed is currently in the middle position (between a toddler and a twin size) so its difficult to find bedding that fits properly and stays tidy. I was so happy to find this gorgeous white ruffle bedset from Beddy’s Beds – it fits awkward size mattresses thanks to the stretchy, sheet like design. You can use code RAINANDPINE or shop through this link to save $ off your purchase.

Look at all the beautiful ruffles! The set set includes the all-in-one sheet/comforter which wraps the bed with elastic, and 2 pillow shams. Both sides of the bed have a zipper that wraps the bed, so it always looks neat and tidy with just a pull of the zipper. The zipper is large and heavy duty, and slides very easily. I just love how beautiful the set is, and how from any angle the bed looks made all day, even after Ashlyn just slept in it! The whole set is machine washable in one easy load, so the white stays clean! And it looks perfect with all the pastel goodies in her room. Ashlyn really loves the soft and warm minky inside – she is really picky about bedding (it has to be SUPER cozy!) and she thinks this set is perfect. Ashlyn’s brother has a Beddy’s set in his monochrome batman bedroom, too.

At the end of Ashlyn’s bed is a white canvas teepee to create a cozy reading nook corner, a cute Kawaii bunny basket to store all her stuffed animals, a white baby crib to hold her favorite dollies, and a wall of her favorite books on a DIY book wall display I created for her using Ikea picture ledges.

Most of her books are from Bookroo, an amazing monthly subscription book service for kids that delivers unique, quality books for all ages every month – we have been subscribing for a couple years now and love every box.

In the center of the room is a sweet hopscotch rug, which is perfectly pastel and super fun for her to play on.

Ashlyn’s bedroom is full of the sweetest pastel and whimsical girls bedroom decor, and she absolutely loves every part of it. It is perfect for my happy little imaginative Ashlyn!

The color of this room is Valspar – Blue Whisper.

Now that Ashlyn is older, we updated her room to a vintage blush and floral themed bedroom. You can also tour the rest of my kid’s bedrooms here.
