A Neutral, White & Cozy Cottage Farmhouse Fall Home Tour

Making a home cozy for fall is one of my favorite things to do. The sunny days are gone, the rain begins, and our family spends a lot more time indoors. To make sure our space is cozy I love to add lots of pillows, blankets, and of course – pumpkins! I decorate with faux pumpkins and stems, they are reusable and look so cute. I made some changes this year including decorating our new brick fireplace hearth, but you can see last year’s fall home tour here as well. Are you ready to take a peek at this years neutral cozy cottage fall home tour?

To keep my home neutral, I use a lot of whites and creams and wood tones throughout my home for fall. From my entryway you can see into the main living area. Lets take a look at the entryway first.

Entryway

To style my entryway for fall in a cozy cottage style, I added some pretty farmhouse pillows, and hung a magnolia wreath. So simple! Sometimes it is the smallest changes that can make a big difference in your home for a seasonal change. Color is very important. So everything I choose for this space is linen, cream, earth toned, etc.

I added pops of rust and copper to the hutch to style it for fall. Here are some close ups of the hutch.

Sitting Room

Next to the entryway is our sitting room, or game room. This is a spot we gather and relax in, and I try to make it extra cozy.

Like the rest of the home, I added some cozy linen and cream and grey throw pillows to this space. In addition, I decorated with some faux stems and florals in earth tones. My favorite update to this room for fall is the rustic fall centerpiece I created with vintage finds. Having a big fall centerpiece in the room really makes this room look like fall.

Another change I made to this room was I swapped out the rug for this gorgeous cream and grey rug. I love the texture and the color, it really made this room look completely different from last year, and so bright and pretty!

Some other details in this room include hanging a scroll on a chippy door, and adding some faux pumpkins in a vintage crate.

I have also hung a large farmhouse sign in this room from Oh Sweet Skye. This sign is white with an aged wash, black lettering, and a medium stained frame in the 48×36″ size.

Living Room

In the living room I also swapped out the rug for a new, bright cream and grey one. The fireplace hearth and mantle is the biggest change in this room, however, with another big and beautiful farmhouse sign from Oh Sweet Skye.  as the focal point, surrounded by neutral and earth toned pieces.

On either side of the sign, I layered some vintage amber bottles and terracotta pots with a few faux floral stems. I tipped the pots over to give them a spilling effect. On the mantle I layered a eucalyptus garland and a mini wreath with the sign. I love how the greenery really pops from the white and cream color of the shiplap fireplace mantle and the fall farmhouse sign.

Kitchen and Dining Room

In the kitchen and dining room I added some faux stems and a pop of color with a mustard blanket.

On the dining room table I added a vintage crate full of faux floral stems. To keep it cozy and neutral all the stems are earthy fall colors.

Here is a view from the living room into the dining room.

Guest Bedroom

The next room that I decorated for fall is our guest bedroom. This room got new cozy bedding and then was styled with some fall accents on a wood tray. This little gather pillow is so cute!

Making our home cozy and neutral for fall was so fun this year. I really loved the new rugs most of all – they changed the rooms so much! Happy decorating!
