A Neutral & Cozy Cottage Farmhouse Fall Home Tour

When the leaves change color, the air gets crisp, and pumpkins begin to appear you know fall is in the air. Decorating in fall is one of my favorite activities – adding pumpkins, neutral accents and refreshing the space to make my home extra cozy in the colder months. Seasonal decor doesn’t need to be extreme – subtle changes that add warmth and coziness can make the whole home feel refreshed and ready for fall. Today I am sharing my fall home tour to inspire your own autumn decor. I love using neutral cottage style pieces, such as faux stems and pumpkins, cozy cream throws and lots of vintage accent pieces. Take a look at my home this fall and be inspired to decorate your own home with neutral cottage farmhouse style decor.

Fall Entryway

To refresh the entryway for fall, I added some neutral faux florals, garlands, and stems. The space was given a “new to me” old vintage hutch – which I filled with lots of antique and vintage pieces in neutral colors with pops of copper for fall.

I love mixing and matching vintage treasures in rust and copper and amber colors for fall, especially in my vintage hutch. You can see more ideas for styling a vintage hutch on this post.

I love how the shiplap wall here really allows all the darker color decor pieces to pop. Black looks amazing!

Fall Living Room

To update the living room for fall, I added a cozy soft ottoman, some new throw pillows using neutral colors such as linen and cream and ticking stripes, and some faux fall florals. I also added lots of cozy throws in creams and a black vintage rocking chair that pops in the space.

The neutral colors and cozy accents make this space an easy fall cottage style living room. And I always have fall candles to add a delicious scent to the room!

Fall Dining Room & Kitchen

In the dining room I created a fall centerpiece with some faux cream flowers in a vintage crock, and put a cute fall pillow on one of the chairs all layered over a cream and black distressed rug.

Then I layered some vintage finds on a dresser that separates the living area from the dining area to add some fall character. I continue to use a variety of neutrals throughout the space, with varying textures and sizes for interest to the vignette.

In the kitchen I switched out some of the shelf decor and added more copper pieces. The labels on the canisters are used throughout the kitchen, you can see how I organized my pantry with these labels here.

Fall Family Room

In our family room, where we like to gather to play games and relax, I updated the space by adding lots of neutral green and cream faux pumpkins. For the table centerpiece I filled a vintage crate with pumpkins, and throughout the space I layered faux florals and pumpkins to create pretty and simple fall vignettes.

Below are some more photos of this space. I really love how all the neutral soft colors like cream and linen and stripes come together to create this space.

This room is such a calming cottage sitting room. It is my favorite room in the house!

Refreshing your home for fall can be simple with a few cozy changes. Extra throw pillows and blankets, neutral faux florals and pumpkins, and some copper vintage accent pieces can change the space completely and give you a fall cottage style farmhouse home!
