A Holiday With a Difference
Choosing a family holiday can be something of a chore. Even with younger children, you’re looking at finding a vacation that has something to keep them entertained but isn’t all about them and allows other members of the family to find their own interests.
If you’ve tried hotels and found them too restrictive, tried camping and found it too basic or tried self-catering but are looking for something a little different, then we bring you the RV holiday.
As fun as camping, with great options on eating out or cooking in, this option is a great one for those looking for a little fun and excitement with a comfy bed thrown in.

Why An RV?
The great thing about hiring an RV for a week is the flexibility it affords. You’ve paid for your accommodation, now it’s up to you where your wheels are going to take you. Perhaps you’ll head to a fun campsite for a day or two of swimming and activities or maybe you’ll spend a night on the road and head to a city for a little exploration. You can be as organised (or not) as you feel like.
Combining the best of being outside, with BBQs and a chance to roam around, with the comfort of an oven, bed and running water, this is a great option for families who want something a little different.
Unless you’re the Roving Foleys you probably won’t want to be in your RV for any longer than a week, at least not on your first expedition so aim for seven days for your first vacation and find out if it’s a timescale you might consider extending for the next holiday.
Some Things To Consider
While you may love driving your car, driving an RV can take some getting used to so be prepared to go slow and steady at first while you get used to the way it handles. Bear in mind too that children will still need car seats appropriate to their age.
While hiring an RV can be fairly reasonable you’ll need to factor in the cost of fuel as you make your way around the state. There are ways to keep costs down, staying in free areas, cooking at home and so on but costs can mount up.
Whether you love the open space of the countryside or the lure of exploring a new city, with an RV you can have the best of both worlds. Your home travels around with you, complete with all your home comforts and keeps you cosy and warm when it’s raining and wet.
When finding a family holiday is beginning to become a bit of a mission, surprise them all by throwing this into the mix and see some happy faces. A chance to get back to nature, a chance for the family to do something different, this is a holiday that memories are made from and one you won’t forget anytime soon.

Hi Bree, we live in Sydney Australia but have travelled to the USA for two amazing holidays. Explored Washington State, Idaho and Oregon on our first trip and Colorado on our second trip all in an RV. We absolutely loved it. The scenery was unbelievable, we had a car and accommodation in one. Would definitely do another trip in an RV. Next planning to see Montana, Wyoming and the Dakota’s in an RV as well.

That is awesome! I would love to visit Australia some day, it’s quite beautiful there from what I hear!
