A Bright & Simple Cottage Style Front Porch Refresh

Front porches are the first thing your guests see when they come to your home and I like to create a clean and simple front porch to greet them. In Spring I love having fresh greens and neutral accents, so this year I added some self-watering planters with boxwoods to the mix. Combined with some wicker chairs and a few faux greens to the wall, this space is complete and so easy to recreate. Take a peek below and see how I created this simple and neutral cottage style Spring front porch.

My front porch has been quite the mess lately, so I cleared it off and started over. To spruce it up I knew I wanted to add some planters and florals so I updated this space with some simple and affordable pieces to create a bright and simple neutral white and green cottage front porch. Here is how I created the look and some ideas for you to spruce up your front porch!

First, I needed two simple white planter boxes. I love these ones – they are self-watering which makes caring for plants in a covered space so easy! They are 20×20″ which is perfect to place next to a front door without taking up too much space. I planted some skinny boxwoods and then added ground cover that will spill over the edges as it grows.

The boxes have the same design on all 4 sides so no matter how you place them they look gorgeous! I love how the crisp white color really makes the space look clean and bright, and the green plants look so pretty in them!

To keep the space looking as bright and fresh as possible I added a black and white striped door mat. There are so many great options for door mats, but sticking to neutrals will keep the space looking tidy and new.

To add some coziness to my porch I placed a pair of wicker chairs and throw pillows and some other decorative greens. You can use pretty much any chairs to create this look, as long as they are neutral in color (brown, tan, black, or white).

I usually have the chairs facing each other on a larger section of my front porch, but have it facing this direction to share it with you in these photos which focus on my front door area of my porch.

On the house I hung some galvanized wall planters with some faux greens and a couple faux wreathes.

Another wreath is hung from the front door as well.

Some other beautiful faux greens drape from this little vintage mail box I hung by the door.

It is so easy to brighten up your front porch with a few simple changes! Using just a few simple accents in a neutral color palette you can create this look at home. And conveniently, you can shop for all your front porch needs right from home! Check out some pretty porch finds I found below!
