3 Of The Best Travel Tips
There is nothing better than a spontaneous trip that you or someone else didn’t expect. Life is too short to let time pass by. If you are able to take a trip, by all means make it happen. Not sure where to go? These 6 U.S. destinations are sure not to disappoint.
But, perhaps you want to surprise someone by taking a trip with them or visiting them on a whim. Here are some quick, spur of the moment travel tips to help make sure you get everything taken care of in a short amount of time.
Transportation
Getting to your destination is the first component of traveling that you need to look at. If you plan on flying, you will need to quickly shop around flights to see which ones are available and which ones work best for your schedule. This may also be a budgetary concern because flights can be expensive. If you have your dates and it meets your desired budget, book it!
Perhaps you are traveling somewhere that you could take your car with you instead. Or, maybe you can rent a larger vehicle to accommodate everyone and the luggage. Sometimes spontaneous road trips are even better. Decide what option is best for you and make it happen.
Of course, you need to make sure that your work schedule doesn’t conflict with this. This is probably something you don’t want to overlook…or maybe you do!
Where Are You Going to Stay?
It is also probably pretty important to figure out where you plan on staying. Maybe you are heading to family or friends and their house is available to you. Otherwise, you will need to continue your online search for a hotel. Many times, you can book hotels along with flights. There are also plenty of last minute travel websites that would love to do business with you.
Depending on the number of people traveling with you, you can check out plenty of Air B&B’s that could be a fun experience. Or, perhaps, you want to rough it and bring a tent for the family to camp out in. This is the PERFECT activity to go along with a spontaneous vacation!
Pack Just the Essentials
When planning a spontaneous trip, you don’t have time to pack a ton of things with you. Be sure to take care of all the toiletries that you may need first. Many retail stores have little travel packs filled with the essentials already made up for you.
Figure out what type of clothes you’ll need and pack light. You want this spontaneous trip to be as stress free as possible. Make sure you have enough undergarments and then if you must wear a shirt or pair of pants more than once, that is fine. Use this travel tip to tag all your bags so you arrive and come home with what you brought!
If you are traveling overseas, don’t forget to bring a passport along with you. If you don’t have a passport, this can no longer be a quick spontaneous trip. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Take the leap and book that unexpected trip. If you forget something at home, you can always find it somewhere else. Don’t sweat the small stuff…make this summer one you’ll never forget.

I need to learn how to pack just the essentials. I sometimes still fail at this and tend to overpack.

I can totally agree with packing the essentials. I use to over pack so many times, it was horrible!

I’ve gone on many spontaneous trips without my passport. I just couldn’t leave the country. But there are so many places in our own country to explore, you don’t always need one. I agree with everything else on your list though!
