A Vintage & White Christmas Cottage Family Room

Christmas decor should be cozy and reminiscent of everything you hold dear. When I think of Christmas, I remember my childhood, and all the fond memories of Christmases past. Vintage decor fills my home, and for Christmas, what better way to recall the joyous memories of childhood joy than to incorporate vintage Christmas decor into your holiday home? And of course, I love to decorate with white, so this year I have created a vintage and white Christmas cottage family room. Take a look!

First, I had to thrift for my vintage Christmas decor. You can check out my tips on thrifting for decor here. Here is what I collected – vintage Santa blow molds, vintage Santa mugs, vintage elves, vintage Christmas candles, and a couple cute vintage animal figurines.

The focal point of the room starts with a white flocked farmhouse Christmas tree. I love how the white flocking looks so realistic, and brightens up the room! It is very wintery which I love because I like the look of a rustic lodge and feel this tree ushers in that feeling. Once the tree is set up, I like to add a couple large holiday pieces, like this beautiful rustic farmhouse sign from Oh Sweet Skye. It is cream with an aged wash, storm letters and a dark stained frame.

Another way I like to update my room for the season is to add some seasonal touches to my hutch. I added lots of little vintage Christmas pieces into my hutch and switched out my main platter to a “Merry Christmas” platter. Check out this post to see the hutch decorated for Christmas closeup and in detail!

Another beautiful and large piece that really adds a vintage touch to the room is a decorative farmhouse scroll. I love this large Deck the Halls song scroll from Zo & Jordan. Scrolls are a great way to bring that old time feeling into your home, and a Christmas song is perfect for the holiday season!

Of course, pillows are another one of my favorite ways to decorate for the holiday season, so I have a couple favorites throughout the room. These ones are from Bridgeway Designs and have a beautiful vintage feel to them. They are the linen color, and really add some charm to this room!

For the rest of the room, I have added several small trees, both flocked and natural, to continue the wintery look throughout the room.

I also added some larger vintage Christmas decor pieces like these Santa blow molds to bring the red pops to other areas of the room as well.

Here is a look at the whole room, I hope it inspires your own vintage and white Christmas cottage family room. Decorating with vintage treasures is so much fun!

One last peek 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this tour of my vintage cottage style family room!
